Senior Season 2014: Played in 32 games, starting in 14 for NSU … had 12 hits in 31 at bats to finish second on team with .387 average … added 12 total bases, 14 runs and six walks for a .500 on base percentage … went 2-for-3 at the plate scoring two runs and driving in another in SLC Championship victory over McNeese State on May 11… SLC All-Tournament team, Utility Player… SLC Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Junior Season (2013): Started all 55 games in right field…recorded 36 hits, including two doubles and two triples…hit safely in eight straight games from 2/22 to 3/2…recorded two 3+ hit games, once at Southern Miss. and Jackson State…scored the eventual game-winning run in the SLC tournament championship game after being driven in by Cali Burke…went 8-8 at stolen bases.
Sophomore Season (2012): Saw action in 39 games, starting 11…had 25 at-bats…crossed the plate 12 times…helped recapture the lead as a pinch runner off of a passed ball over Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
2011 Season: Appeared in 32 games as a utility player…as a pinch runner, Shenequia recorded 11 runs and two stolen bases in three attempts…in the final game of McNeese State series, Shenequia stamped the winning run to complete a 3-2 comeback extra-inning victory and give NSU its only SLC series sweep of the season…captured a .250 batting average in eight at-bats.
At Pleasant Grove HS: Lettered all four years in softball and basketball and three years in track…as a freshman, softball team finished fourth in the 3A-16 district while she earned her Defensive District MVP…sophomore season, team finished third in the district and Abby picked up the district’s Co-Defensive MVP…team finished sixth in the district during her last two years…as a junior, Abby completed the season with a .410 batting average, .477 on-base percentage, .526 slugging percentage, .897 fielding percentage with 30 stolen bases and four triples…in her last season, she compiled a .368 BA, .455 on-base percentage, .517 slugging, .984 fielding with 35 stolen bases , four doubles, three triples, and one home run and was selected Co-Offensive District MVP and made the 3A-16 All-Academic team…she also placed third in the 100-yard dash in the 3A Texas UIL state track meet…served as the president and vice-president of the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and a member of DECA…graduated with a 3.0+ G.P.A.
