2022 Season: Primary third baseman that started 45 games...hit a pair of home runs, four doubles, drove in seven and scored 14 runs...had multi-hit games against UTSA (March 5) and Jackson State (March 16)...home runs came against Portland State (Feb. 27) and Houston (March 12)...had a double and RBI in senior-day win against UIW (April 23).
2021 Season: Started four games and made 14 total appearances ... hit a 3-run, pinch-hit homerun against Grambling that accounted for her only RBIs of the season ... started and reached base three times with a hit, walk and hit by pitch against Louisiana Tech.
2020 Season: Started 10 games and appeared in 14 games in the COVID-19-shortened season … scored three runs against UAPB, also recorded a hit and an RBI … scored a run against UMass Lowell in the opener … drew four walks.
2019 Season: Established herself as a left-side infielder starter in her first season, making 51 starts and 53 appearances ... started two games in the opening weekend and became a starter at third base and later shortstop ... after a sluggish start, Black raised her season average to .235 by hitting .288 in the final eight weeks ... nearly half of her 27 hits went for extra bases -- second on team with eight doubles and third with four home runs ... 18 RBIs ranked fifth on the team ... stole seven bases on eight attempts ... three-run home run lifted NSU to win at La. Tech ... 10th inning double plated two runs in win vs. champion SHSU ... home run vs. McNeese sparked NSU to comeback win in which she had career-high three hits ... walk-off squeeze bunt helped NSU sweep SLU.
High School: Three-time first-team all-district and a one-time All-Metroplex selection for Colleyville Heritage High ... won defensive player of the year, two silver bat awards and a golden glove honor ... one letter in volleyball, was the team MVP as a freshman ... graduated with a 4.0 GPA ... member of the National Honors Society and on the U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete.
Personal: Daughter of Suzanne and Pete Black ... two older brothers Ryon and Colby ... Ryon played four years of football at Missouri Southern ... both parents have masters degrees ... planning to major in health and exercise science with goals of being a personal trainer ... life’s ambition is to be a positive light in the world ... nickname is “Mags.”
