Kaylee Guidry finished her third season as the Northwestern State following one season as the director of operations.
Guidry tutored pitchers Micaela Bouvier and Mikayla Brown, both of whom rank in the 10 in career wins and career winning percentage.
She helped both Bouvier (shoulder) and Brown (ACL) navigate multiple injuries in their careers as Bouvier (14-11) and Brown (10-9) posted winning records in 2018. Bouvier received honorable mention honors from the Southland Conference with a 2.71 ERA.
In 2017, Brown returned to the circle following an ACL injury the previous season. Brown posted a 16-14 record with five shutouts.
Both the 2018 and 2017 suffered injuries that required them to work with limited arms, principally Bouvier missing most of that season.
The NSU pitching staff faced turmoil early in 2016 with Brown’s injury, but Guidry prepared Bouvier and Shelby Sells to step in as the Lady Demons started 16-5.
Guidry is no stranger to the circle as she finished her two-year NSU career as one of the most decorated pitchers in program history.

She allowed just nine hits and two earned runs over 17 1/3 innings pitched against Central Arkansas and McNeese State (twice) to help send NSU to its second consecutive NCAA Tournament.
The Walker native earned wins in 10 straight decisions between April 13 and May 11, including the Southland Conference Tournament championship game. She finished the 2014 season with a team-leading 12-5 record and 3.71 ERA in 20 starts. She held hitters to a staff-low .224 batting average while throwing 10 complete games.
Guidry was the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week on May 5 and was honored as an All-Southland Conference Second-Team Selection. Other accolades include being a second-team selection to the LSWA All-Louisiana Collegiate Softball Team in addition to being a second team Southland Conference All-Academic member.
In her first season in 2013, Guidry posted a 12-4 record behind an impressive 2.06 ERA. Her 1.02 ERA at the conclusion of the regular season was best among Southland pitchers. She earned All-Southland Second-Team honors for her efforts.
