Angel Bunner

Angel Bunner joins Northwestern State for her first season after a successful pitching career at Auburn University and a professional outing alongside fellow assistant coach, Amy Hooks, with the N.Y./N.J. Comets in the summer of 2013 and the Carolina Diamonds in 2012. Her stint with the Diamonds as a 17th overall draft pick, and she became the first player from Auburn to be takin in the National Pro Fastpitch draft. 

At Auburn, Bunner made notches in the program’s career record books noting fifth overall in ERA (2.24), fifth in batting against average (.226), fifth in wins (44), a tie for seventh in saves (6), eighth in strikeouts (326), and a number of others. 

Bunner, a native of Fairless Hills, Pa., attended Conwell-Egan High School, and earned four letters in softball and three in field hockey. She made lasting impressions on Conwell-Egan as she set records for wins (70), strikeouts (818) and shutouts (38). 

The Daughter of Debbie and George, Bunner has one brother, Rudy, and one sister, Amie. Bunner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in history.Â
