Andrew Pate is in his first season as a graduate assistant for the Northwestern State sports information staff.
Pate is the primary media contact for the Lady Demon softball and volleyball programs and the Lady Demon and Demon Cross Country teams.
Before coming to NSU, Pate worked as Sports Information intern with Sam Houston State during the spring semester.
While at SHSU, Pate served as the contact for men’s and women’s track & field while assisting in coverage of men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball. Pate was also responsible for managing several key projects including the overhaul of the university’s Hall of Honor website and production of all-time win-loss results for baseball and softball.
Pate, a San Angelo, Tex. native, graduated from the University of Houston in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in communication including a concentration in public relations and a minor in kinesiology.
While at Houston, Pate served as sports editor for the student newspaper, “The Daily Cougar” as well as golf beat reporter. He also held several leadership roles as a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Pate is the son of Robert and Marilyn and has one younger sister Allison. He is currently working towards a master’s degree in health and human performance at NSU.
