Stephen Kim

After spending three seasons as a student athletic trainer at Baylor University, Stephen Kim enters his second season as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Northwestern State men’s basketball team.
 
Kim dressed out for the final two games of the 2017-18 Northwestern State season, appearing in a Feb. 28 loss to Nicholls that marked his Division I basketball debut.
 
As an undergraduate at Baylor, Kim worked with the football, men’s basketball, baseball, track and field and cross country teams. During his tenure, he worked with the 2015-16 men’s basketball team, which reached the NCAA Tournament.
 
Kim evaluated and diagnosed acute and chronic injuries, developed and prescribed rehabilitation protocols for injured student-athletes, assisted with pre- and post-game treatments and mentored fellow athletic training students.
 
Kim, a 2017 Baylor graduate with a bachelor of science in athletic training, was a member of the Baylor Athletic Training Student Association and the InterVarsity Campus Ministry. He was part of the STARS Mentors Program at Antioch Community Church in Waco, which provided tutoring to elementary-age students.
 
A Salem, Oregon, native, Kim is a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) and is athletic trainer certified. Additionally, Kim is certified in CPR and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
 
Kim is pursuing a master’s degree in health and human performance at Northwestern State.
