One season after serving as a graduate assistant, Jackson Dean will take over the tight ends position for the Northwestern State football team in 2014.  He is also in charge of the east Texas recruiting area.  

The 2010 graduate of Division II power Valdosta State was a part of the 2007 national championship team for the Blazers, as well as the 2010 Gulf South Conference championship team.  He was a two-year starter at wide receiver for VSU.

Before NSU, he was a receivers coach for his high school alma mater, South Gwinnett (Ga.), in 2011.  He went on to coach linebackers at Hillgrove HS (Ga.) in 2012. 
 
Dean was born in Burlington, Vt., but was raised in Loganville, Ga. He is the son of Carol and William Dean, and has two sisters, Jessican and Amanda.  He married the former Lauren McKnight of Waycross, Ga.
