Keith Edwards, a veteran high school basketball coach, brings his trade to the Demons this winter, where he will serve as the graduate assistant.
Edwards was a four year letterwinner and three year starter at point guard for David Lipscomb College. The Bisons were ranked third in the NAIA after sporting a 33-4 record during Edward's junior year (1984-82). He served as a student assistant coach while earning his bachelor of science degree in health and physical education in 1984.
Edwards was the assistant basketball and baseball coach at Goodpasture High School before moving to Greater Atlanta Christian high school in 1985. With Edwards serving in the same coaching capacities, Greater Atlanta finished second in the state basketball finals two straight years.
Last year, Edwards served as the head basketball coach at Middle Tennessee Christian school in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The 27-year old is engaged to Shelly Sweeny of Nashville, Tennessee. At Northwestern State, he will be working on his master's degree in health and physical education.
