Two chapters of Chad Bailey's coaching career have come together as he enters his first season on Northwestern State's coaching staff.
An assistant coach and NSU's director of player personnel, Bailey spent the past two seasons coaching along first-year NSU head coach Rick Cabrera at Tallahassee Community College.
While on Tallahassee's staff, Bailey helped lead the Eagles to a combined 52-16 record, including a 31-6 mark and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament semifinals in 2022-23.
Joining the NSU staff marks a return to the Southland Conference for Bailey.
Before arriving in Tallahassee, Bailey spent three years as a student and a graduate assistant at Southeastern Louisiana, earning a pair of degrees from SLU while working under head coaches Jay Ladner and David Kiefer.
While at Southeastern, Bailey worked closely with Southeastern’s Keon Clergeot, who was the Southland’s second-leading scorer in 2020-21. Bailey also helped tutor Marlain Veal, a two-time first-team All-Southland selection, the 2017-18 SLC Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team NABC All-Region selection, as well as all-conference selection Gus Okafor.
Bailey is a two-time Southeastern Louisiana University graduate, earning his undergraduate degree in business management in 2018 and a master's degree in kinesiology in 2021.
