Barry Copeland is in his second year as a graduate assistant coach for the Demons after completing hsi playing career at Hillsdale College and Central Michigan University
Copeland was a two-year performer at Central Michigan in a spot-performer role and shared the Best Hustler Award his junior season with the Chippewas. The highlight of his playing career at Central Michigan came during his senior season at the Evansville Holiday Invitational Tournament when he hit a 55-foot shot at the buzzer to beat Loyola of Chicago 70-68 in a first round contest. Copeland will return to Evansville this winter when the Demons take part in the 1980-81 tournament.
Copeland, a native of Dearborn, Mich. and a graduate of Dearborn High School, also played for two seasons at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich. before transferring to Central Michigan.
Copeland holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Central Michigan University and is currently working on a doctor's degree in education at Northwestern.
