Kalevi Pajuluoma is an experienced athletic trainer currently serving as the Director of Sports Medicine and Head Football Athletic Trainer at Northwestern State University. With a strong commitment to student-athletes’ health and wellness, Kalevi has worked with a wide range of sports teams, including football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and women’s tennis. He began at Northwestern State University as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, contributing to the athletic training staff for various sports before advancing to the Assistant Director role in 2020.

Kalevi is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Athletic Training at Ohio University. He holds a Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.

In addition to his clinical experience, Kalevi is actively engaged in the athletic training community. He is a member of the NRMC Vitality Committee and has served on the Louisiana Athletic Trainers’ Association’s Professional Development Committee. Kalevi also serves as a preceptor for the University of Southern Mississippi’s Master of Athletic Training program.

Kalevi is committed to professional growth and development, holding certifications in CPR and First Aid, Dry Needling, and IV Access. He is licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and is board-certified through the Board of Certification.

Recognized for his exceptional work, Kalevi received the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center Excellence Award in January 2024 and was named a finalist for the Healthy Roster Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2023.
