Former Louisiana College letterman Taylor James is in his second season as Northwestern State’s administrative graduate assistant for defensive backs.
In his first season with the Demons staff, James assisted the defense with game-planning, film breakdown and the creation of weekly scouting reports. James helped create practice and game scripts.
He assisted with recruiting and defensive back and special teams drills and position meetings. James organized and was in charge of preparing the scout team offense.
James also assisted the team academic liaison and football operations staff.
A four-year letterman as a wide receiver at Louisiana College, James spent one season at his alma mater working with both receivers and defensive backs while also assisting with the Wildcats’ strength and conditioning program.
James was a four-year letterman at Winnfield Senior High School, twice earning all-district honors as an athlete and a wide receiver. He helped lead the Tigers to the 2011 state championship game. He was a three-year baseball letterman and a three-time regional qualifier in track and field.
He currently is pursuing a master’s degree in sport administration at Northwestern State.
