Taurean Carter begins his college coaching career as an administrative graduate assistant, working with the Northwestern State defensive line.
Carter, a defensive lineman, completed his playing career in 2025 at Colorado. In two seasons with the Buffaloes, Carter appeared in eight games, making five tackles.
That followed four seasons at Arkansas where he collected 60 tackles (four for loss) and 1.5 sacks in his Razorback career.
A three-star recruit from Mansfield Legacy High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Carter was a four-year letterwinner who totaled 157 career tackles and helped Legacy reach the 2017 Texas Class 5A Division II state semifinals.Â
Carter earned his bachelor's degree in recreation and sports management from Arkansas in December 2023, graduating with a 3.13 GPA.
He completed his master's degree in organizational leadership from Colorado in December 2025, graduating with a 3.2 GPA.
Carter is pursuing a second master's degree in health and human performance at Northwestern State.Â
