Nick West is in his first season on the Northwestern State staff, assisting with the Demon offensive line.
A Natchitoches native, West has spent the past seven years coaching high schools in the Baton Rouge area, winning three state championships during his time at Parkview Baptist (2015 champions) and University High School (2017-18 champs).
In 2019, West coached at Walker High School, helping lead the Wildcats to their first playoff victory in 20 years. West returned to University High in 2020 as the Cubs’ special teams coordinator and defensive line coach.
During his seven years at Baton Rouge schools, West coached 26 Division I signees, including 16 players who signed with Power Five Conference schools.
A Parkview Baptist graduate, West was part of the 2007 state championship team under legendary coach Kenny Guillot. He began his coaching career at nearby Natchitoches Central High School.
West earned his undergraduate degree from Northwestern State in 2019 and is pursuing a master’s degree in health and human performance at NSU.Â
