John Mitchell is in his first season as a Northwestern State wide receivers graduate assistant coach.

Mitchell assists receivers coach Alvin Slaughter as well as creates social media graphics and other promotional material for the football program.

Mitchell joined the staff in February after serving as a quality control assistant at Louisiana Tech for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

He assisted the inside receivers coach and helped break down film.

He graduated from Louisiana Tech with a bachelors of science in K-12/Health and Physical Education. He served as a student equipment manager at Louisiana Tech and Southern Arkansas as an undergraduate.
