    Administrative Graduate Assistant - Wide Receivers
An Academic All-American wide receiver at Wingate University, Dakota Gallant joined the Northwestern State coaching staff in the Spring 2018 semester as an administrative graduate assistant.
  
He will assist Alvin Slaughter with the development of the NSU wide receivers.
    
Before arriving at Northwestern State, Gallant spent one season as the assistant wide receivers coach at Louisiana College. While on the Wildcats staff, Gallant also coached several facets of special teams, including kickoff, kickoff return, punt return and punt block.
    
He also was the team’s video coordinator and assisted with team travel and monitoring team academic performance.
    
In his one season of playing experience at Wingate, Gallant was part of the Bulldogs’ South Atlantic Conference championship team. 
    
Gallant has experience coaching at a pair of North Carolina high schools. He began his coaching career at North Moore High School as the passing game coordinator.

Gallant was part of a staff that inherited a 32-game losing streak at North Moore before leading the Mustangs to the state playoffs and producing nine all-conference players in each of his two seasons.    
    
He then coached the 2015 and 2016 seasons at Cox Mill High School. As the Chargers’ wide receivers coach, Gallant coordinated offseason workouts for quarterbacks and wide receivers, helped call the offense and was responsible for all position workouts for wide receivers. He also was a calculus teacher at the school. 
    
Gallant is a 2016 history graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is pursuing a master’s degree in health and human performance at Northwestern State.
