Andrew Norton is in his first year as Northwestern State’s director of equipment operations after spending a season as an administrative graduate assistant with the Demon football team where he worked with the team’s special teams units.
Norton is responsible for outfitting all of Northwestern State’s athletic programs and works closely with the department’s apparel representatives.
Under current Northwestern State head football coach Blaine McCorkle, Norton completed a five-year career at Belhaven, helping the Blazers capture the 2023 USA South Conference championship, the first conference title in program history.
Norton was a two-time first-team all-conference punter and earned second-team all-region recognition in 2023. For his career, Norton dropped 51 of his 210 career punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line and had 11 punts of at least 50 yards. He went 1-for1 on field goals in his career, connecting on a 21-yarder against Howard Payne in March 2021.
A December 2022 Belhaven graduate in leadership and coaching, Norton was a four-year member of the football leadership council, a three-year member of Belhaven’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a team captain in 2023. He also was a three-time academic all-conference selection.
Norton and his wife, Emily, had their first child — a son, Elijah — in February.
