2023 Season: Ran for a season-high 65 yards against Stephen F. Austin on Sept. 16 ... hauled in his second touchdown catch in as many weeks, scoring from 11 yards out at Louisiana Tech on Sept. 9 ... scored NSU's first touchdown of the season on a 47-yard pass from Tyler Vander Waal in the Sept. 2 season opener at UL Lafayette ... added a team-best 33 yards rushing against the Ragin' Cajuns.
2022 Season: Finished as NSU's third-leading rusher (205 yards) and eighth-leading receiver (11 catches) in eight games ... shook off an ankle injury to rush for a season-best 43 yards at Southeastern on Nov. 12 ... hauled in an 84-yard touchdown catch against Southeast Missouri State on Oct. 22, the sixth-longest catch in school history ... caught a career-long, 80-yard touchdown pass from Zachary Clement in the third quarter of a Sept. 24 win against Lamar ... hauled in the first receiving touchdown of his career, a 20-yard pass from Miles Fallin, in a Sept. 10 loss to Grambling ... returned to action after missing the final seven games of the 2021 season, rushing for 33 yards and catching two passes in a Sept. 3 loss to No. 2 Montana.Â
2021 Fall: Ranked third on the team in rushing with 286 yards despite appearing in just four games ... paced NSU with 80 yards on the ground against UIW on Oct. 2 ... led the Demons with 88 yards rushing, including a 36-yard touchdown run, in the season opener at North Texas ... added 32 receiving yards on a career-best-tying six catches against the Mean Green.Â
2021 Spring: First-Team All-Southland Conference in his first season ... All-Louisiana Second Team ... had two 200-yard rushing games and another 100-yard outing in just six games ... rolled up 212 and 2 TDs at Lamar, which ranked 10th all-time on NSU’s single-game rushing charts ... the 208 rushing yards and three TDs at UIW rank 13th ... named the College Sports Madness National Player of the Week for his UIW effort ... just the third running back to have multiple top-15 single-game records in the same season, joining Joe Delaney and Ronnie Powell ... added 100 rushing yards at SLU ... averaged 113.5 yards per game (7th nationally) with seven touchdowns (6th nationally) ... his 8 yards per carry ranked second nationally ... totaled 681 rushing yards in six games ... added 18 catches for 149 yards ... best receiving game came against Sam Houston in which he caught six passes for 50 yards.
Prior to NSU: Two-year letterman at Kilgore College helped lead the Rangers to a conference championship and a Heart of Texas Bowl victory ... rushed for 258 yards and a touchdown as a sophomore and pulled in 12 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns, earning second-team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference honors ... had 99 yards on nine touches against Navarro, catching a pair of touchdowns ... as a freshman, rushed for 374 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry ... opened his career with a 103-yard performance against Tyler Junior College, scoring a touchdown ... had a pair of two-touchdown games – at Texas A&T and in the second meeting against Tyler JC ... gradued with a 3.1 grade point average.Â
High School: Was a four-sport standout at Hallettsville High School, playing football, basketball, baseball and running track ... helped lead Hallettsville to four straight state playoff appearances and three district titles ... versatile athlete was first-team all-district and honorable mention all-state as a senior, rushing for 1,347 yards and 21 touchdowns while catching 15 passes for 796 yards and six scores ... all-state selection and district MVP as a junior when he ran for 1,776 yards and 26 touchdowns, caught 24 passes for 347 yards and five touchdowns and added 97 tackles, seven sacks, five interceptions and three forced fumbles on defense ... first-team all-district as a sophomore while playing quarterback, rushing for 1,645 yards and 24 touchdowns and throwing for 803 yards and nine touchdowns ... rushed for 1,143 yards and 18 touchdowns and added 27 catches for 847 yards and three scores to earn Newcomer of the Year honors as a freshman ... was a Perfect Game All-American in baseball and an honorable mention all-stater as a freshman ... reached the state finals in the long jump as a freshman.
Personal: Born Aug. 25, 2000 ... son of Barbara Shephard and Paul Adams ... has two brothers, Mark and Dae Dae, and one sister, Ebony ... his cousin, Teidrick Smith, has played with the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and the CFL’s Ottawa Redblacks ... majoring in industrial engineering and technology ... plans to pursue his NFL dreams after his NSU career... life’s ambition is to be authentic and take care of his loved ones.
