2022 Season: Returned to action at the midway point of the season to play the final 21 games as designated player following offseason surgery...hit .232 with a .576 OPS with a home run and eight RBI...made first start back against Louisiana Tech where she delivered an important RBI single in her first hit of the year...hit the first walk-off home run at Lady Demon Diamond since 2015 to beat UIW (April 1)...delivered the winning run on a sacrifice fly in NSU's 12-inning win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (April 8)...drove in the only run of the game in NSU's no-hit win against UIW (April 22)...had one hit in each game of the conference tournament.
2021 Season: Started 45 of the 46 total games on the season, all behind the plate ... hit .232 on the year with three home runs and a team-leading 29 RBIs ... gave NSU a 4-0 first-inning lead over Arkansas with a 2-out, 3-run homerun to left, the first hit in her 2-for-3 day at the plate against the Razorbacks ... went 3-for-3 and drove in four in the first game of a three-game sweep at Nicholls where she had hits in all three games and five total RBIs ... hit her first career triple as part of a 3-for-5 effort in the second game of the doubleheader at Lamar ... hit a grand slam in the fifth inning at Stephen F. Austin that put NSU ahead 5-2 ... had an RBI in three of the four games at the conference tournament.
2020 Season: Solidified herself as the four-hole hitter and continued her role as the starting catcher with 22 starts in the COVID-19-shortened season … hit .281 with 12 RBIs … added four doubles and one home run as she slugged .391 … had eight walks to five strikeouts … two-run home run in a win vs. UAPB … against Sam Houston State, two of her three hits were doubles, and she had two RBIs … scored the walk-off run in the 6-5 win vs. SHSU after doubling to start the attack … had a go-ahead RBI in that game two innings earlier … five multi-hit games … three multi-RBI games, two against UAPB and one against UMass Lowell … improved as a defensive catcher, which includes stopping several wild pitches that kept key runners from advancing in the SHSU series … Preseason All-Southland Conference First Team.
2019 Season: Had a breakout first season in which Perry ranked third on the team in batting average (.288), RBIs (30) and slugging percentage (.435) … ranked second in hits (51), doubles (8) and home runs (6) … started all 57 games and was NSU’s primary catcher … was hitting above .300 before a small late-season slump … arguably NSU’s most consistent bat, hitting in the No. 4 hole most of the season … won SLC Hitter of the Week (Feb. 26) with eight hits and eight RBIs in six wins … had six hits and four RBIs in a sweep of TAMU-CC … homered against LSU, McNeese (twice) and SFA … nine multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI games … had three RBIs in a win against Fairleigh Dickinson and a loss to Nevada … had two RBIs each in a pair of wins against HBU … had a streak in which she hit safely in 16 out of 18 games.
High School: Led Wylie High to three bi-district championships and a regional semifinals in her senior season … two-time TGCA All-State pick who was named the District 6-6A Catcher of the Year as a senior … two-time DFW All-Metroplex Team … four-time all-academic team member who made the TGCA Academic All-State squad as a senior … four-time all-district performer … graduated with a 4.0 GPA as a National Honor Society member … member of the Texas Association of Future Educators.
Personal: Daughter of Jamie and Archie Perry … two older siblings Marcus and Alyssa … father competed on the USA Boxing team and fought professionally for eight years … father served in the Marines and was inducted into the Marine Corps Boxing Hall of Fame … uncle JaJuan Dawson was part of Tulane football’s perfect season in 1998 and played for three NFL teams … Marcus played football at Oregon State and sister played soccer at Cal State Monterey Bay … aims to earn a masters in speech language pathology and work in the school system to help underprivileged kids reach their full potential.
