Senior Season (2013): Played in and started 16 contests...tied for the team lead with four goals...scored the winning goal in overtime in a 2-1 victory against Houston Baptist...credited with the game-winner against Nicholls...scored a pair of goals against Nicholls...also scored against McNeese...took 31 shots with 18 being on goal, both were second on the team...had six shots against Lamar...her 1,132 minutes ranked eighth on the team...played at least 90 minutes five times, including all 110 in the match against Lamar...named Second-Team All-Southland Conference.

Junior Season (2012): Started in all 18 matches, leading the team with five goals and four assists for 14 points…finished second on the team with 37 shots, 22 of which were on goal…recorded two game-winners…the first in a 4-0 victory over Grambling when she found the back of the net off of a rebound by the goalkeeper…the second when she took advantage of a fumble by Nicholls’ goalkeeper to give Lady Demons their first SLC win of the season…had one goal and one assist over Texas Southern to aid in first win of the season.

Sophomore Season (2011): Saw action in 18 games, starting 17 for a total of 1156 minutes… had three goals and one assist for seven points including one game winning goal in a 1-0 shut out against McNeese… had 25 shots with 13 on net.

Freshman Season: Led the team in points (8) with three goals and two assists… led the team with three goals… second on the team in shots on goal with 12…tied for the lead in two assists… left after 16 games to go play for Guyana National Team to compete for the Women’s Gold Cup, first ever from NSU… she scored the first goal of the season for the Lady Demons against Oral Roberts on a cross from Kayla King… her next goal was unassisted against Louisiana-Lafayette… her third goal of the season was against Southland foe Texas-San Antonio…. she helped Hailey Altenburg to a game winning goal against Jackson State in a 3-0 win… also helped Sarah Sadler to a goal against Sam Houston State… saw action in 16 matches started 15 of them… second leading point getter in conference play (3)…. played in 1016 minutes… attempted 24 shots.

Savona on Guyana National Team: Ashlee Savona became the first Northwestern State soccer player to play on any country’s national soccer team when she was named to the Guyana national squad in 2010. She helped the team qualify for the Women’s Gold Cup, a qualifying tournament for the Women’s World Cup. A native of Canada, Savona is able to play on the Guyanese team because her mother is a native Guyan.

Savona in High School: Played club soccer for Ajax Storm in 2006, Oakville Redgales in 2007, Dixie Blades in 2008 and the Dixie Mississauga Gladiators ...played on the Ontario Provincial Team in 2008 where she helped her team to the Canadian National Championship...competed all four years on the Varsity Soccer Team at St. Martins Sep School ... competed in flag football, volleyball, basketball and badminton... soccer and flag football MVP as a senior... graduated with a 3.52 grade point average.

Savona’s Personal:  Born December 12, 1992... daughter of James and Ameena Savona... one sister, Jessica (15), who is a member of the Canadian National Gymnastics Team... majoring in education and plans to become a teacher... also inspires to be a professional soccer player.
