Biography

2012 Season: Competed in six of seven meets for the Demon squad...finished 10th at the ULM Warhawk Invitational with a 5 mile time of 30:42...was the fifth runner for NSU at the SLC Championships, completing the 8000m course in 28:26.7 and placing 62nd.

2011 Season: Ran a personal-best 8000m time of 28:57.9 at the Centenary Invitational (10/15), placing 30th...finished first in the 6000m (19:01) at the McNeese 6K XC Relay with teammate Mark Dotson...competed at the SLC Championships, running the 8000m course in 31:15.1 and placing 82nd. 

High School: Two-year letterman in cross country and track….ranked sixth in the state in the 3200m as a junior and senior and earned a No.8 state ranking in cross country….graduated from Calvary Baptist Academy in 2011 with a 3.4 grade point average.
 
Personal: Born John C. Broughton on February 2, 1992…son of Dennis and Sarah Broughton….has two siblings, Matthew and Jessi….majoring in biology with plans to attend medical school after graduating in 2015 to pursue his life’s ambition to become a doctor.
