2011 All-Louisiana 2nd Team Pitcher
2011 Season:
• hit the record books, ranking second in wins with out a loss (6) behind Gary Johnson who had 10 in 1967
• finished with a 1.65 earned run average in 49 innings pitched
• appeared in 20 games starting two, winning both of those
• picked up his first win after he hurled five innings and gave up one run on five hits in the Demons first match-up against Grambling
• against Louisiana-Lafayette, he pitched his season-high eight innings and allowed six hits with one run on 10 strikeouts to improve his record to 2-0
• earned his third win in relief against Grambling after he gave up two runs on three hits with five strikeouts
• last three wins were all conference wins in which he collectively pitched 9.2 innings and allowed two runs on 12 hits with five strikeouts
• finished the season allowing nine earned runs and 49 hits
Prior to NSU:
• earned all-region honors as a sophomore pitcher at St. Charles Community College…
• compiled a 3.25 gpa
Scanio in High School:
• part of back-to-back district championship teams as a junior and senior
• earned first team all-conference honors his senior season after going 4-1 with a 2.33 ERA and striking out 33 in 30 innings pitched
• threw just seven innings his junior season but went 5-1 with a 1.25 ERA in 28 innings pitched as a sophomore
• lettered three years in baseball and one in soccer at Hazelwood West High School…
• honor roll student after graduating with a 3.6 gpa
