Northwestern State University of Louisana

A dual threat for the Demons both at the plate and on the mound... knocked in two runs in 13 at bats and also scored two runs... on the hill, compiled a 2-0 record with a 6.41 ERA... appeared in 17 games with two starts and struck out 20 batters in 26.2 innings pitched... second on the team with 15 game appearance in relief and third with five games finished... best outing came when he threw 3.0 innings and allowed no earned runs and four hits with a strikeout in a 17-10 win over Sam Houston State on March 29... got his wins against Louisiana-Monroe (Feb. 20) and Southeastern Louisiana (May 16).

Before NSU

Earned first team all-conference and all-region honors as a sophomore at Fort Scott Community College in Kansas… team finished 38-15 and advanced to the regional round of the playoffs… as a freshman, team went 32-19 and advanced to the regional round of the playoffs… earned second team all-conference honors… a distinguished Academic All-American… graduated with a  3.95 gpa.

High School

All-state honorable mention honors as a junior and senior at Loveland HS… hit .490 while going 3-4 with a 3.70 ERA as a senior… junior season, hit .510 while compiling a 4-4 record with a 3.50 ERA… .545 batting average with a 6-5 record and 4.10 ERA his sophomore season and hit .450 with a 5-2 mark and 3.00 ERA as a freshman… a three-time all-state football player… academic all-state as a junior and senior… lettered four years in baseball and football and one year in basketball… graduated with a 3.5 gpa.

Son of Don and Shelby Geist… born Oct. 24, 1987… three sisters - Ashley, Britt and Miranda… Ashley played catcher at Northern Colorado… Britt won the volleyball state championship as a junior at Loveland HS… a member SAAC, Distinguished Academic All-American… All-American Qucol… Phi Theta Kappa… majoring in general studies… want to become a game warden.
