RECORDS WATCH: With 23 home runs, needs nine to become NSU's all-time career leader… ranks 10th all-time with 113 runs scored… tied for 6th all-time with 33 doubles… tied for 11th all-time with 97 RBIs… 5th all-time with 277 total bases… tied for 9th all-time with 44 stolen bases.
2009 Season
Offensive juggernaut for the Demons after ranking in the top three in nearly every offensive category… hit .362 with a team-high 14 home runs and 47 RBIs - second best on the team… led the team with 55 runs scored, two triples, 135 total bases, 27 walks, 17 stolen bases and 51 games played… set a single-game NSU record after collecting six hits in six at bats with two home runs, three RBIs and three runs scored against Tulane on March 3… had a tremendous 3-game series against Southeastern Louisiana when he went 11 for 14 with four home runs, 10 RBIs and seven runs scored… earned Collegiate Baseball National Hitter of the Week honors after that performance… had a career-high six RBIs in the May 16 game against SLU after going 5 for 5 with five runs and two home runs… had four other games where he knocked in at least four runs per contest… posted 16 multi-hit and 11 multi-RBI games… finished the season on an 11-game hitting streak.
2008 Season
Led the team with 20 stolen bases in 23 attempts and finished fourth with a .282 batting average... hit four home runs with 26 runs batted in and hit 10 doubles while scoring 35 runs... had 16 multiple-hit games and six multi-RBI contest... hit a 3-run home run at Tulane (Mar. 12) and belted in three runs on a double and home run against Louisiana-Monroe (Apr. 29)... hit .500 (6 for 12) in a three-game series against A&M-Corpus Christi, hitting a double, home run, scoring five times and knocking in two... went 5 for 10 with a RBI and three runs scored in a 2-game SLC series at Stephen F. Austin... went 7 for 13 with two home runs, three RBIs and five runs scored in a series at Nicholls... longest hitting streak went for eight games.
2007 Season
Finished fifth on the team in hitting with a .284 batting average… played in 50 games with 48 starts… had five home runs and six doubles with 24 runs batted in… seven steals in 10 attempts… in SLC games, hit .279 with four home runs, four doubles and 17 RBIs… had nine multi-hit and five multi-RBI games… went 3 for 4 with a run scored and RBI against Dallas Baptist (Feb. 10)… 3 for 3 vs. Southeastern La. (Mar. 24)… 3 for 3 with a RBI and run scored at Centenary (Apr. 3)… went 2 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored to go along with two home runs at UTSA (Apr. 15).

Earned All-District honors all four seasons at Benton High School... named the district’s MVP his senior season... also an All-District football player as a junior and senior... lettered four seasons in baseball and four in football... graduated with a 3.2 GPA.

Born Jan. 13, 1987... parents are James and Rhonda Lyles... two brothers, Tigger and Heath... Tigger was an all-conference player for the Demons in '03 and '04... graduated in 2009 with his bachelor's degree.
