NATCHITOCHES—Finding the back of the net three times in a weekend split earned Paige Baumgartner a much-deserved Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor, the league announced Tuesday.

Baumgartner scored all three of her goals this season this past weekend, led by two goals in the comeback win over Louisiana Tech on Sunday, the first victory of the season for the Demons.

The graduate student from Rowlett, Texas, spearheaded a comeback against Tech with a pair of goals that turned a 2-0 deficit into a 2-2 deadlock.

Her second goal was the most notable, as her shot from the top left corner of the box curved in and hit the right post and found the back of the net.

She started out the weekend with a goal late in the first half at Prairie View A&M.

Her three total goals this season are tied for eighth in the Southland and her six points are tied for 10th.

From then on, NSU showed its dominance with an outburst offensively to come away with a 5-2 victory.

It is her second conference offensive player of the week honor after doing so last season following victories over McNeese and UIW en route to a First Team All-Conference selection.

Next up for Baumgartner and the Demons is a Senior Day tilt with Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday before traveling to Grambling on Sept. 17 to round out non-conference play.
