NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State football team will hold walk-on tryouts for the 2026 roster Aug. 21 at Turpin Stadium.
 
A time for the tryout has not been set but will given to those who are interested once they contact assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Justin Williamson.
 
Prospective walk-ons must be current full-time students who are registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center, are in good academic standing with the university and must have passed a physical examination within the past six months. Tryout members also must have a sickle cell test.
 
Signup is open through Aug. 19.
