NATCHITOCHES—In the words of DJ Khaled, "another one."

For the third consecutive week, Tarajh Hudson took home the Southland Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, highlighting a pair of Northwestern State athletes bringing home a conference weekly award.

In addition to Hudson, Teodora Samac had an outstanding week in the women's javelin to collect her first career SLC Female Field Athlete of the Week award.

After winning the last two weekly awards, Hudson posted a season best in the men's discus throw with a toss of 182-1 to finish third at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster and also improve his distance at the top of the conference standings.

He is currently 13th in the South Central Region and 30th in the NCAA East rankings, which has him on the brink of another trip to the NCAA East First Round.

He also advanced to the finals in the men's shot put, finishing ninth with a throw of 51-4.5 at Texas A&M.

While Hudson is no stranger to winning the award, Samac is taking home her first such honor after a tremendous showing at Texas A&M.

In the javelin, she recorded a personal best throw of 162-0, which was the best javelin throw of the week and inches her closer to the top spot, which is occupied by teammate Anisha Gibbons.

Samac, a sophomore, finished fourth at the Alumni Muster. She is 11th in the South Central Region and 34th in the NCAA East rankings, poised for a second consecutive appearance at the NCAA East First Round.

NSU now has its eyes set on the SLC Championships, beginning May 14 on the campus of Stephen F. Austin.
