NATCHITOCHES—A week in which Northwestern State broke a school record and had another Southland Conference-leading mark, three athletes earned weekly honors.

For the second straight week, Tarajh Hudson takes home the SLC Male Field Athlete of the Week, while Will Achee (men's track) and Rushana Dwyer (women's track) also took home the honors.

Achee, a sophomore from Bossier City, ran a blistering 45.81 in the 400-meter dash, breaking the school record of Andrei Moore that was set April 30, 1976.

He now holds both the indoor and outdoor school records, breaking both this season.

Achee leads the conference in the event, as well as the 4x400 relay. Achee and his fellow 4x400 runners ran a 3:04.93, which is not the conference best, but another sub-3:05.00 performance to place first.

While Achee dominated in the men's 400, Dwyer did the same on the women's side.

Dwyer ran a season-best 51.44 to win the event and maintain the lead in the conference and was within three tenths of a second from breaking the school record.

Like Achee, she also was a part of the 4x400 relay team, as she and her teammates dominated.

The women's 4x400 relay team of Dwyer, Kahliyah Anderson, Margaret Conteh and Samari Finney ran an impressive 3:32.23, which now leads the Southland Conference—beating its own season best.

While Hudson didn't throw a season best, he did throw a top spot in the conference in the men's discus this week with a mark of 177-02, placing fourth in the event.

He is continuing a strong senior season after winning the award last week as well.

His season best is 181-1, which he set at the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational, leads the conference.

Next up is a trip to Texas A&M for the Alumni Muster, the last meet before the SLC Championships at Stephen F. Austin, beginning May 14.
