NATCHITOCHES—Another strong meet from Tarajh Hudson earned him the Southland Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

Hudson, a graduate student from Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas, took home his first weekly award of the season after winning the men's discus at the Bryan Clay Invitational, tossing a 175-1.

He already was leading the discus in the SLC, but this throw would have been ranked No. 2 if he didn't already have the lead.

Hudson beat out competitors from Wyoming, Kansas, fellow conference school Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, among others.

After not competing during the indoor season, he has thrown it least 170-0 in each of his four meets so far, including 175-0 in his last three.

Hudson currently leads the Southland in the event with a toss of 181-1 at the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational.

It is the sixth weekly award for NSU, joining Rushana Dwyer and Sileena Farrell (women's track), Eliska Zahradnickova (women's field), Kalen Beavers (men's track) and La'Darion Dudley (men's field).

Next up for Hudson and his teammates are a trip to the state's capital city for the LSU Alumni Gold, a meet held Saturday, NSU's second-to-last meet prior to the outdoor conference meet at Stephen F. Austin.
