NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State men's basketball senior guard Micah Thomas earned Second-Team All-Southland Conference honors, the league office announced Friday afternoon.

The two five-player all-conference teams, along with individual awards, were voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Thomas capped a standout senior season as one of the Southland Conference's most consistent offensive threats while leading the Demons in points, assists, and steals.

The Oklahoma City native finished the regular season scoring in double figures in 28 of Northwestern State's 31 games, including 22 of the final 23 contests. He reached the 20-point mark 11 times, highlighted by a career-high 29 points in an overtime battle against North Alabama on Nov. 11.

Thomas opened the 2025-26 season with a then-career-high 28-point performance and continued to build momentum throughout the year, reaching a major milestone when he scored his 1,000th Division I career point against Grand Canyon on Nov. 21.

One of the Demons' most clutch performers throughout the season, Thomas delivered a buzzer-beating 3-pointer against Texas A&M–Corpus Christi on Jan. 10, securing a dramatic victory on Mike McConathy Court.

His strongest stretch of the season came in mid-February, when he posted three consecutive 20-point performances from Feb. 16–21, averaging 25.3 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field (22-of-44) and 93 percent from the free-throw line (27-of-29). That run included a 27-point performance against McNeese and 23 points in a blowout win over Houston Christian, where he went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.

Thomas' performances, which made him the first Demon to score at least 20 points in three straight games since DeMarcus Sharp did so from Jan. 28-Feb. 9, 2023, during that week earned him Southland Conference Player of the Week honors on Feb. 23.

He is fifth in the SLC in scoring with a 17.2 average, second in free throw aim at 92 percent (138-150), and ninth in field goal percentage (43), His free throw accuracy ranks seventh nationally and has surpassed the school record if it doesn't drop. He connected on 36 consecutive free throws before a miss against Houston Christian. His 532 points this season rank 19th in school history.

Thomas made last year's All-Southland Tournament team after leading Northwestern to the semifinals.

Thomas' all-conference recognition marks another milestone in a season that saw him emerge as one of the Southland Conference's premier guards and a key leader for Northwestern.

Thomas and the seventh-seeded Demons now turn their attention to the Southland Conference Tournament, where they will face No. 6 seed Nicholls on Sunday night at 7:30 p.m.
