NATCHITOCHES – A pair of Northwestern State football captains and stalwarts on their side of the ball have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Senior center
Caleb Billiot and junior linebacker
Danny Sears each earned the honor for NSU, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Billiot completed his second season and the Demons' starting center in 2025, extending his consecutive games started at the position to 16 by season's end with 21 total starts across the past two years.
The leader of the offensive line, Billiot, a Houma native, tallied 24 total knockdowns during the season and help produce a signature moment for the Demons' season by helping quarterback
Abram Johnston across the goal line for a touchdown against Lamar.
A health and human performance major, Billiot has maintained a 3.54 GPA during his collegiate playing career.
Sears finished fourth on the team with 51 total tackles (1.0 for loss). He made at least two stops in every game this season, extending his streak of games played with at least two tackles to 17 in a row.
The Covington, La. Native had five or more tackles in a game five times, three of them coming in conference play, and made a season-best seven stops at Minnesota.
Sears holds a 3.56 GPA in his junior year as a sport and recreation managament major.
Both Billiot and Sears were one of four player-selected captains and each one of eight players on the team to start every game during the 2025 season.
To qualify for Academic All-District, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and appear in 90 percent of their team's games or start 66 percent of them.
