NATCHITOCHES – Rocco Gump picked up one final honor for his 2025 season.
 
Gump earned honorable mention honors on the annual Louisiana Sports Writers Association's All-Louisiana Team, which was announced Monday morning. The team is chosen by a vote of state baseball sports information directors and media members.
 
Gump, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound native of Chandler, Arizona, led the team with 54 RBIs and with four triples, stole 19 bases (second on the team) and ranked third in batting average at .303.  
 
Additionally, Gump set the school single-season record for hit by pitches (24), helping him post a .433 on-base percentage and a .938 OPS.
 
Gump started all 56 games at third base for Northwestern during a season in which he earned second-team All-Southland Conference honors. Gump led Northwestern with 17 multi-RBI games and drove in the only run of the game with a solo home run in a 1-0 win at New Orleans on March 21.
 
Gump added three RBIs in an 13-3 April 22 win at then-No. 4 LSU as the Demons handed the Tigers their first non-conference, run-rule loss in program history.
