NATCHITOCHES – The final Exchange Bank and Trust Demon Great of the Game of the 2025 Northwestern State football season is a hometown hero.
A two-time individual Southland Conference champion who was part of four conference team championships,
Madison Brown will be honored during Thursday's 6:30 p.m. football season finale against Stephen F. Austin.
A Natchitoches native, Brown was named the 2025 Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Female Student-Athlete of the Year after capturing the gold medal in the pole vault at the conference indoor championships, helping Northwestern capture its second straight team indoor title.
The victory served as Brown's second individual conference title, joining her 2023 SLC Outdoor championship where she cleared a then-personal best 12-7.5 on her final attempt.
As a junior, Brown reached the NCAA East Regionals in the pole vault after finishing third at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships. A versatile athlete, Brown also competed in the 60-meter hurdles, the 60-meter dash and the 4x100 relay during her Northwestern career.
In addition to her individual championships, Brown was a three-time Southland Conference Academic All-Conference selection.
The Exchange Bank and Trust Demon Great of the Game program is in its second decade of honoring former Northwestern State student-athletes and staff members. Exchange Bank and Trust has been a key supporter of NSU Athletics throughout its long history as the oldest financial institution in Louisiana.
