LUBBOCK, Texas—After a strong first day of multis at the Stan Scott Invite & Multis,
Tim Pelkmans is in fourth place in the heptathlon after four of the seven events.
Pelkmans, a sophomore from Breda, The Netherlands, sits at 2988 points after the four events. He has finished in the top three of the 12 competitors in two events and top half of the 12 on three occasions.

In between them was the long jump (21-0) and shot put (40-9.5), where he placed sixth and fifth, respectively.
On the women's side, their pentathlon wrapped up, as they completed all five events as
Cherie Neal placed 10

The meet started off strong for Jarrett, as she finished fourth in each of her first two events, the 60-meter hurdles (8.78) and high jump (5-4.5). But fouling on all three throws proved costly and she couldn't regain her mojo in the long jump (16-2.5) and 800-meter run (2:44.68), where she finished 10
th and 11
th, respectively.
Neal, a sophomore transfer, made her biggest splash in the long jump, finishing fifth with a distance of 16-10.5. She also finished sixth in the shot put, tossing a 34-7.
She finished 11
th in the high jump (4-8.25) and 12
