NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State wide receiver
Twon Hines' most productive of his two seasons with the Demons landed him a Southland Conference postseason honor.
Hines, a graduate student from Dayton, Ohio, was named to the Southland Conference Football All-Academic Team, which was announced Thursday afternoon. The team was chosen by votes of conference member sports information directors, academic personnel and head football coaches.
Hines, who is pursuing a master's degree in homeland security at Northwestern, has a 3.9 grade point average and was tied for second on the team with 19 receptions this season. Hines also established a career high with 257 yards receiving.
He established single-game career highs in receptions (4) against McNeese and receiving yards (59) at South Alabama. His 30-yard catch on the final drive against Prairie View A&M put the Demons at the 1-yard line and gave Northwestern a chance to win the game.
