NATCHITOCHES – It took nearly half the season but the Northwestern State baseball team finally succumbed to Mother Nature on Thursday.
Because of heavy rain Wednesday night and more rain expected during the day Thursday, the Demons' Southland Conference home opener was postponed.
The Demons and Cardinals will play at 6:30 p.m. Friday and will attempt to play a doubleheader Saturday with a to-be-determined start time.
This is the first time Northwestern State's 2023 season has been affected by weather, marking the latest such instance since at least 2015.
