NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State and Weber State have agreed to a home-and-home football series, starting in 2024 in Natchitoches.
Both athletic departments announced the two-game series Wednesday morning.
"We have seen in recent years the type of experience for our student-athletes when they face teams from outside our region," NSU Director of Athletics Kevin Bostian said. "The chance to play a non-conference game against another FCS team – and a traditionally successful one at that – makes sense for our program. Our conversations with Weber State led to what we expect to be a beneficial series for both institutions."
The series begins next season in Natchitoches with the first meeting between the schools before Northwestern State makes the return trip to Ogden, Utah, in the 2026 season.
Weber State's 2024 visit to Turpin Stadium marks the first time a Big Sky Conference team has traveled to Natchitoches since Cal Poly played here on Sept. 20, 2008.
The Demons last faced a Big Sky team in the 2022 season opener when NSU traveled to Montana for the season opener against the Grizzlies.
