BATON ROUGE – A trio of Northwestern State track and field athletes will head south Friday to compete in the LSU Bayou Bengal.
Competing in the meet, which begins at 10 a.m. inside the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse, are sprinters
Tre'Darius Carr and
Aarika Lister as well as pole vaulter
Karlyn Trahan.
Carr is making his season debut while Lister will compete in her second meet of the season. Both sprinters will compete in the 60 meters.
Lister was the third-place finisher in the 2021 Southland Conference Indoor Championships in the event while Carr finished seventh on the men's side at the same meet.
Trahan has competed in all three meets in which Northwestern State has taken part in this season. Her best mark came at the season-opening Texas A&M Ted Nelson Invitational when she cleared a personal indoor best of 11-8.5.
