NATCHITOCHES – Behind a pair of career-best-matching performances this past week, Candice Parramore was named the Southland Conference Player of the Week. This is the sixth weekly honor for Northwestern State this season, the most of any team, and the second for Parramore.

The senior transfer led the Lady Demons in scoring in both games a week ago, putting in 23 points against Nicholls on Thursday and New Orleans on Saturday. The total matched her career-best game against Mississippi Valley State that led to her first player of the week honor in week five of the season.

She shot 44 percent from the field for the week and went 13-for-15 (.867) from the free throw line, adding to her conference leading totals in free throws made and free throw percentage. She ranks in the top 15 in the NCAA in both of those categories.

Along with her point-scoring abilities, Parramore also matched a career high with five assists in the win against Nicholls, the second time in three games she dished out five helpers. It was also her first game this year scoring 10 or more points with five or more assists and five or more rebounds.

She averaged 6.0 rebounds for the week, grabbing seven against New Orleans, to go along with her 23.0 point and 3.5 assist average for the week.

Parramore leads the Lady Demons and ranks fourth in the conference in scoring at 14.0 points per game. In league games she is putting in an average 15.6 per game, also fourth best.

She eclipsed 300 points in a season for the first time in her career in the win against Nicholls

NSU wraps up the regular season on Saturday when it hosts Southeastern at 1 p.m. at Prather Coliseum.
