NATCHITOCHES – A pair of season-best performances against Eastern Illinois highlighted the Week 6 Demon Brothers Booster Club Player of the Week awards, presented by Allegiance HealthCare.

Junior receiver Zach Patterson was named Offensive Player of the Week after establishing career highs in receptions (12), receiving yards (167) and receiving touchdowns (2).

Patterson's 12 catches moved him into a three-way tie with Quan Shorts and Darius Duffy for fifth on NSU's all-time single-game catch mark. The single-game record of 13 catches has been accomplished four times.

Patterson's 167 receiving yards were the most for a Demon receiver since Javon Antonio racked up 192 in the spring 2021 finale at UIW.

Senior defensive end Jomard Valsin Jr. collected Defensive Player of the Week honors after tallying a season-high 10 tackles (nine solo), including one for a loss and a pass breakup in the loss to Eastern Illinois.

Anderson, a junior cornerback, recorded one of his two tackles Saturday on special teams, saving a touchdown by running down Eastern Illinois' Mark Aitken following Aitken's 80-yard kick return.

The Demons return to action Saturday when they travel to Houston Christian for a Southland Conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Husky Stadium.
