NATCHITOCHES – Eighteen different Northwestern State Demons and Lady Demons across 11 different events were honored on the All-Louisiana Track and Field team, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced Thursday.
 
Student-athletes make the All-Louisiana team by posting a top-three time or mark in their respective events.
 
Jumper Jasmyn Steels is the only female jumper to acquire All-Louisiana status in two different events.
 
Steels garnered second team status in the long jump (21-5.25) and triple jump (42-7.5). Her triple jump mark captured silver at the Southland Conference Championships and ranks second in NSU history.
 
The honorable mention All-American also competed at the NCAA Championships and U.S. Olympic Trials after winning SLC gold in the long jump.
 
Five other NSU representatives made the team as individuals.
 
Natashia Jackson logged third place in the 400 meters with her school record 52.55, which allowed her to advance to the NCAA East Preliminary finals.
 
Annemarie Broussard, the SLC pole vault champion, had the third-best mark in the state (12-11.75).
 
Lauren-Ashley Clarke claimed third in the high jump with her 5-10 mark, which ranks third all-time in NSU history.
 
Two Demons stamped their names on the individual list as Kie'Ave Harry and Quindarrius Thompson each earned second-team status.
 
Harry clocked a 10.16 at the Leon Johnson Invitational, which would propel him to bronze at the SLC Championships and into the NCAA East Preliminaries finals. That time is tied for third in NSU history.
 
Thompson, who also competed at the NCAA East Preliminaries, jumped 51-2.25 at Texas Relays.
 
All four relays landed spots on the All-Louisiana Team.
 
Jackson ran legs on the 4x100 and 4x400, which took third and second place in the state, respectively.
 
Joining Jackson on the 4x100 relay were Robyn Byrd, Jayla Fields and Aarika Lister. Their 45.28 ranked eighth in NSU program history.
 
On the 4x400, Janiel Moore, Diana Granados and Erin Wilson ran legs on a relay that finished in 3:36.83, second all-time at NSU and within a second of the school record.
 
On the men's side, the 4x100 relay featuring Harry, Javin Arrington, Tre'Darius Carr and Kennedy Harrison clocked a 39.65 (13^th at the NCAA East Preliminaries).
 
The 4x400 relay of Harrison, Ebenezer Aggrey, Dejon Blake and Destine Scott rank third in the state with a 3:10.72.
