HAMMOND—The Northwestern State soccer team takes its red-hot offense into the last road game of the regular season in Hammond to face Southeastern Louisiana Sunday at Strawberry Stadium.

The contest begins at 1 p.m.

NSU (9-7-1 overall, 6-2-1 Southland) has had an offensive explosion the last two contests, scoring seven goals in wins against Houston Baptist and Nicholls.

Overall, the Lady Demons are 9-2-1 in the last 12 contests. They are 3-0-1 in their conference road matches.

SLU (3-12-1, 2-7) is fighting for its SLC Tournament lives. The Lions are two games behind Stephen F. Austin, but have the tiebreaker. Even with the seven losses, three were 1-0 games to McNeese, UIW and Abilene Christian.

In last year's meeting, Jayden Wheeler scored the lone goal in the 48th minute in a 1-0 victory. NSU has not won in Hammond since 1998.

Going into Sunday, the Lady Demons are tied for third place with Abilene Christian, five points behind the leader Lamar. Five points separate UIW (21 points) and Sam Houston and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (16).

Olivia Draguicevich leads NSU in goals with five and she and sophomore Jalen Donaldson are tied in points with 10.

Donaldson has eight of those points during conference play. She has scored three goals in the last five, including scoring in each of the last two.

The sophomore has five points in his past two games. She leads the team in both shots (42) and shots on goal (25). Her 25 goals on the season is 10th in program history for a single season.
NSU has a 1-2 punch at goalkeeper with senior Kayla Bomben and sophomore Acelya Aydogmus. Bomben has a 0.98 goals against average, which may become the best in school history in a single season. Her career GAA ranks fourth in school history. Her four shutouts in a career rank eighth.

Aydogmus has started nine games, including the last one against Nicholls. She has a 1.79 GAA, and has three shutouts this season. Her three shutouts moves her into a tie for 10th in school history for a single season. She also sits 11th in shutouts in a career.

For SLU, Ellie Williams leads the Lions in both goals (3) and points (7). She also has registered 21 shots, including 13 on goal, which also lead the team.
Like NSU, the Lions are a young team. Their top five scorers are freshmen or sophomores.

Another freshman, Sophie Wendt, has started the past three contests at goalkeeper. She has a GAA of 1.68, and has stopped 10 shots in those three games.

Following the road trip, NSU returns home to play one more regular season game, as Central Arkansas comes to Natchitoches next Friday. The contest begins at 7 p.m.
