NATCHITOCHES—For the second time in three weeks, Northwestern State earned the Defensive Player of the Week honors. This time it is sophomore Natalee Henry, the league announced Tuesday.

Henry scored her first two goals of the season over the weekend, including the game-winner in overtime against Lamar Friday where she booted home a shot from just outside the top of the box.

On Sunday, the Tomball, Texas, native, scored a late goal on a free kick from outside the box that tied McNeese in the loss. Those were the only two shots she took over the weekend, playing all 187 minutes in the two games.

"Natalee is deserving of this honor," co-head coach Jess Jobe said. "But she is part of a good defensive unit that fits into a scheme. She has been working on set pieces in practice and I am really happy for her to receive this recognition."

She also helped a defense that held a high-powered Lamar offense that was coming off a 6-0 victory to just one goal.

Freshman Hallie Field won the honor earlier this season, after scoring the deciding goal in a 1-0 victory against Texas State. It is the first time the Lady Demons have had multiple players of the week award winners in a season since 2016.

NSU heads back on the road this weekend against conference unbeatens Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word.
