CORVALLIS, Oregon -- For the second straight day, the Northwestern State baseball team will try to extend its stay in the Pacific Northwest. This time, it will do so on ESPNU.
The streaming provider will broadcast the Demons' 2 p.m. Central Daylight Time matchup with state rival LSU in an elimination game at the NCAA Corvallis Regional. The winner of that game will advance to face No. 3 national seed Oregon State at 8 p.m. CDT in the regional championship.
After falling to Oregon State 9-3 in Friday's opening round, the Demons (38-23) bounced back to shut out San Diego State, 9-0, posting their first NCAA Regional win since 2005 and the first NCAA Regional shutout in program history. The Tigers (38-26) defeated San Diego State, 6-4, on Friday before losing 14-1 to Oregon State on Saturday night.
The teams have met once this season with LSU grabbing a 9-5 win in Baton Rouge on May 15.
