Jumps coach Tyron Stewart's comments:
"Fabriana is a junior college transfer. She came from Coffeyville as an OK jumper: she long jumped 18 and 38 in the triple. When I first got her in the fall of 2016, she couldn't practice because she was dealing with sickle cell issues, and didn't get to practice until late October. As a result, we got going late. She had a rough indoor as she was trying to acclimate to the new environment and the program. Once outdoor season arrived, she ended up jumping 40 feet in the triple and 19 in the long, which are two life-time bests for her. Conference (Indoor Championship) didn't go as well as planned, and we experienced some delays that we weren't aware of, so Fay didn't do as well as I had wanted. Overall, Fay has done a pretty good job here as a junior college transfer. She scored for us, and has contributed to the NSU team. She did what she could with the situation she was in. I am proud of what she has brought to the table and I wish I could have had her as a freshman." Â
