NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State's baseball game against Lamar has been canceled because of impending severe weather.
 
There will be no makeup date for the game, which was the second of a two-game midweek series between the teams.
 
The decision to cancel the game was made because of the impending weather and its effects on both the game and travel plans for Lamar.
 
This is the first canceled game of the season for Northwestern State, which returns to action Friday at 6:30 p.m. when it hosts Central Arkansas in the first of a three-game Southland Conference series.
