NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State athletics will return to the radio airwaves this season, beginning with Thursday night's football season opener against Alcorn State.

All 12 Demon football games will air on Baldridge-Dumas Communications' 100.7 FM KZBL, returning Northwestern to the radio airwaves for the first time since the 2022-23 men's basketball season. The Northwestern State Athletics Department announced the two-year agreement Tuesday afternoon.

Those games also will air on BDC stations KTEZ 99.9 FM (Zwolle), KVCL 92.1 FM (Winnfield) and KWLA 103.1 FM (West Louisiana/East Texas).

"We are thrilled to re-establish our partnership with Baldridge-Dumas Communications and 100.7 KZBL," Director of Athletics Kevin Bostian said. "As we looked to re-enter the radio space, a partnership with BDC was an easy decision. Our fans are accustomed to finding us on BDC's stations, so it will be a seamless transition for both of us and them as we return the Demons to the air."

BDC Radio had been the home of Northwestern State athletics for more than two decades when the pair's most recent contract concluded in 2019.

The format for the 2025-26 athletic and academic year will follow a similar setup to the ones Northwestern fans had grown accustomed to throughout the department's previous agreements with BDC.

In addition to all 12 Demon football games, BDC will air Northwestern men's and women's regular-season basketball games and a combination of 26 baseball and softball regular-season games.

The full slate of men's and women's basketball broadcasts will begin following the completion of football season with baseball and softball picking up following the completion of both basketball seasons.

Former Demon baseball player Chris Salim will handle the broadcasts of all sports for Baldridge Dumas Communications, which operates a conglomeration of eight radio stations across west, northwest and central Louisiana and east Texas, including 100.7 FM KZBL located in Natchitoches.
