NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State volleyball team's annual "1K Day" promotion will be a stylish one in 2017.
Between the second and third sets of Thursday's match against Southland Conference-leading Sam Houston State, volleyball fans will be treated to a fashion show sponsored by LUX Clothing and Accessories.
Numerous campus organizations will be represented during the event. Among those scheduled to appear will be Miss Lady of the Bracelet Erica Jarlock, Miss NSU Abby Hinds, representatives from Phi Mu and Tri Sigma and representatives from Northwestern State softball, women's basketball and track and field.
Additionally, there will be two $25 LUX Clothing and Accessories gift cards given away during Thursday's match.
The fashion show is just part of a variety of giveaways and promotions coinciding with "1K Day," NSU volleyball's yearly push to draw 1,000 fans to a match.
Thursday's match is Teacher Appreciation Night and each Lady Demon volleyball player will select a faculty member to stand with them and be introduced prior to the 6:30 p.m. match against Sam Houston State.
There will be free pizza provided for the first 100 NSU students, and Mustache Mike's will be on site selling Italian ice. There also will be free T-shirts thrown into the Prather Coliseum stands, and all fans are eligible to win a $300 LA Capitol gift card. Fans must be present to win the $300 gift card.
Admission to Thursday's match, and all NSU volleyball matches, is free thanks to the support of Red River Mill Credit Union.
