Box Score WACO, Texas – Northwestern State couldn't keep opposing runners off the base paths Friday as the Lady Demons dropped two games in Baylor's Getterman Classic.
NSU lost 9-5 to North Texas in the morning before No. 21 Baylor blanked the Lady Demons 10-0 in five innings Friday afternoon.
NSU (6-3) returns to the diamond Saturday to face Liberty at 11 a.m. and will play another game based on bracket play.
In the second game Friday, Baylor (3-1) scored one run in each of the first three innings before a seven-run, fourth-inning led to the run-rule loss for NSU.
After the Lady Bears loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth inning, four of the next five batters drove in runs while using two outs for a 7-0 lead.
Another run scored on an error before Caitlin Charlton plated the final two runs of the inning with a single.
Baylor strung together nine hits in the win.

Shelby Sells (1-2) took the loss with eight of the 10 runs being earned. She walked three batters and struck out one.

Baylor ace Heather Stearns (1-0) struck out five Lady Demons in four innings while allowing three hits. The Lady Bears have won 19 consecutive games in the series dating back to NSU's lone win in 2001.
