Live StatsLive StreamNATCHITOCHES – After snapping a five-game skid against Prairie View A&M Friday, the Northwestern State soccer team looks to keep it going in the final non-conference game of 2014 on Sunday when it hosts Jackson State Sunday at 1'clock in the Lady Demon Soccer Complex.
Esdeina Gonzalez led NSU (2-5) with two goals and
Yanci Johnson and
Cassandra Briscoe each had one in the 4-0 win over PVAMU.
Alex Latham played 72 minutes of the shutout between the pipes and
Brooke Bourbonais finished the final 18.
Jackson State is 2-3-1 on the season, and is 1-1 against Southland Conference schools with a 2-0 loss to Southeastern Louisiana and a 1-0 win over McNeese State.
Gonzalez, a freshman, took over as the leader in point (8) for the Lady Demons. She has four goals this season, all of them came in a couple of two-goal games.
Julia Ranalli trails her with seven points on two goals and three assists.
Jackson State's leader in points is Elexis Rice who has three goals this season. She is followed by Jalana Ellis with three points.
NSU will hit the pitch again to open Southland Conference play at Lamar on Sept. 19 before it hosts Stephen F. Austin two days later.
